Coolest lawyer ever

From ABC News online:

Michael Kirby addresses the Griffith Uni graduating law students.

The retiring judge said he did not want to be tedious, so he dived straight into what he said was the most important thing he had discovered in life.

"I refer to love. Love for one another. Love for our community. Love for others everywhere in the world.

"Love, you see, transcends even scholarship, cleverness and university degrees. It is greater than pride and it's greater than wealth. It endures when all worldly vanities fade."

He urged the graduates to take love into their future workplaces.

I heard him on the radio saying this stuff, and it certainly made my heart glad. And then I thought, well what about  William Deane with all the brave and wonderful stuff he did on reconciliation when he was G-G, and Brennan and Mason. And Ron Wilson. And Gibbs.

The High Court in the 80s and 90s was full of cool lawyers.

Still working on the briztreadley site design, so still inflicting ademack.com readers with cycling images. This is me riding around Lake Taupo the other week. Contrast with the 'After' shot below.

It's just a personal opinion.

After

On Saturday I rode the Lake Taupo Challenge. I know I said the cycling stuff would go on the new site, but I haven't got that ready yet, so this is maybe one last cycling post on this site.

Anyway, this is how I look when I take a self-portrait after riding 160km in 5 hours 40 minutes.
